Indie Music Women’s Artist of the Day is…
Nia Nicholls (@nianicholls)
Nia Nicholls is a recording artist signed to Bob Patmore’s Record Label, Uniq Recording Artists. She has been recording, performing, and writing since she was just 11 years old and has since had the opportunity to record not only in Nashville but also in San Diego. At 17, she was invited to Manchester, to perform at the country music festival “Buckle & Boots” 2018. Nia has also had Dylan Scott, who had the Number 1 single in America with his hit single “My Girl”, promote her music through Instagram videos and has concluded she is “one to watch”.
Recently, Nia was invited to have an interview with Roy Noble on BBC Radio Wales, where they played Nia’s song, “Close To You”. This single, like her others, was recorded in Nashville with musicians who have performed with Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Lady Antebellum, and many more. Keep an eye out on Spotify for Nia’s new music!

Nia shared what it means personally to be an indie music woman artist: “As an Indie Music Female Artist, I know how hard and ruthless the music industry is, but what has kept me going all these years are the women who have set up shows, radio stations, blog sites, and Spotify playlists, to promote upcoming country artists like myself. It means the world to me, and because of those women, I have made many new friends. Actually, most of my musician friends are women – and I think that speaks to how encouraging and supportive we all are as a community. I’m so proud to be a woman in country music, and I hope someday I can help out young girls who are trying to break into the industry.”
