I’m a french native singer-songwriter based in Montréal Canada with a style described as pop with a touch of soul and folk. My parents are both classical musicians so I was raised learning classical instruments (flute, piano, voice) before moving on to the acoustic guitar. I’m passionate about creating and experiencing music but also the combination of the Arts as a whole to create an emotional and thought-provoking performance.
I love musical theatre, visual arts, dance, theatre and have pursued each of these elements in parallel to my music. I find these aspects help me grow as a person and as an artist, and they have a way of feeding into each other in a unique and beautiful way. Additionally, my multicultural background, being raised in Tokyo, Geneva, Singapore, Copenhagen, and Montreal, is a foundational part of my identity and my values. Through my music and artistic journey, I always aim to be vulnerable and authentic. An artist must be truthful to who they are, in order to create meaningful work. I’m constantly drawn to playing with contrast, nuances, meaning, and lyrical melodies.
ADELINE shared with me what it means to her to be an indie music woman artist:
“To me, being an indie music female artist is both such a gift while also being very challenging. It means I have creative control and I set my goals, and projects and get to decide my path as I go, but it can quickly get overwhelming. That’s why the indie music community is so important! Oftentimes, it seems like we’re our own worst enemy or harshest critique, but on the contrary, as an indie artist, you need to be your own biggest fan. You better believe in yourself and in your vision, in order to keep putting in the work and passion, on the daily!”
