Indie Music Women’s Featured Artist of the Day is…
Sophia Bella (@scuccii) An emerging new voice in alt-pop music, Sophia Bella is releasing her debut single Riot on April 3rd. Sophia is a 21-year-old New York-area musician with a strong dance background (she is completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Research with a focus in Digital Media). She spent the majority of her childhood and teen years immersed in musical theater, ballet, and ballroom dancing, but balanced her classical training by listening to artists which have since influenced her own music, including Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Billie Eilish, Coheed and Cambria, Palaye Royale, and Fleetwood Mac.
Her debut single “Riot” came out April 3rd on all streaming platforms.
Sophia shared what it means to her personally to be an indie music woman artist:
“Being a woman in music is something that I’m extremely proud of and feel very brave in doing. Being able to act so vulnerable to an audience, as a person who is already seen as more vulnerable and weak to the general public, is such a brave act and I want to be able to empower women to do the same and not being afraid of speaking their feelings and their truth. I am so proud to be a strong woman and I write for other women in hopes that they can and will feel strong as well (if they don’t already)!”
