Indie Music Women’s Featured Artist of the Day is…
Tricia Fitz (@triciafitzmusic)
Combine Musical Theatre, Pop Punk, Rock, and a wild imagination and you get Tricia Fitz. Tricia is a proudly independent Brazilian-Canadian artist who takes on a full DIY approach. This allows her to freely explore her versatility and take audiences through an epic range of emotions, as featured in her album “Epic Penguin Sharks”. Tricia is known for her dynamic vocals and theatrical performances and fully embraces her campy and cheesy style.
Born in Brazil and living in Canada, Tricia has been working in the music industry since 2008 as a vocal coach, artist mentor, music publisher, and performer. After years of questioning her musical persona and identity, she looked to her Influences Freddie Mercury, Devin Townsend, and Andrew W.K, and decided to be the expressive and energetic female lead you see and hear today. Tricia transcends genres and questions normality. She is on a mission to have your energy gauge refilled and ready to face the world!

Tricia shared with me what it means to her personally to be an indie music woman artist:
“I’ve been involved in the music industry since 2008, working as a performer and independent artist, to eventually becoming a vocal coach, mentor, and now owning my own independent music publishing company. I take great pride in having creative and administrative control over what I do, from the fun stuff to all the ugly work people usually hire others to do for them. I’ve chosen to do it all myself because I want to understand my industry and appreciate how much work goes into being an artist. I have worked tirelessly to know how the industry works and how to cover all my tracks, grow and learn from all my experiences, and to pass on the information and support indie artists as much as possible. To me, being an indie music woman artist is much more than being a frontwoman; it’s about being fearless, informative, and above all, proud of what you represent.”
