Indie Music Women’s Featured Artist of the Day is…
gannett (@gannettmusic)
Nicknamed ‘gannet’ due to her tendency to take other people’s food, Sheffield-based musician and producer Molly Clark creates self-proclaimed ‘sad boi tunes’ and ‘apocalyptic pop’ music. gannnet skilfully combines acoustic pop sensibilities with innovative explorations into electronic production. Her debut single Vancouver is coming out on Friday 12th March.
Riding the gen-z power ballad resurgence, led by artists such as Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift, Vancouver is a skillfully produced yet incredibly raw exploration of losing first loves, growing up, and hometown blues. gannnet’s debut solo single is full of rich vocal harmonies, soaring strings, and melancholic acoustic guitar. This is your new soundtrack to stare dramatically out of a train window to.

gannet shared what it means to her personally to be an indie music woman artist:
“Making indie music has always been an emotional and creative outlet for me. It means exploring your own style free from the constraints of what the music industry might expect from you. I love being a woman producing my own music finding community in other women producers – we are underrepresented but we have so much to give and so much to say!”
