Tyla Dyne

We asked Tyla what it means to her personally to be an indie music woman artist:
“I have dedicated the majority of my teenage hood and young adult life to performance and music, but never had the self confidence to release my own writing until recently. I saw so many amazing young women telling their stories through music and with the use of social media and accessibility. Now as an independent artist, I realised that I can, in fact, do it alone.
Growing up in a musical environment, I feel that my influences have come from an eclectic mix of genres; and that is evident in the way I write and perform. While I would say as an artist I fit firmly into the singer-songwriter / pop genre, there is an obvious nod to country music, with Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton being some of my biggest musical influences.
In terms of a target audience, I feel that my music doesn’t exclude any type of person or background. However, as a 23 year old female, I understand that the audience I may captivate the most would likely been around my age group as I write from personal experience. That being said, I believe anyone can connect and enjoy my new single! Music is the way I have survived some of the hardest times in my life, and it is the way I have celebrated some of the happiest. I remember so many moments of pain in my life where I have run to the piano and written a song, it being the only way to express myself. These personal emotional moments have turned into amazing songs that I feel others can relate to, and I’m so excited to share that with the world.”
